Proximity and Planning your Navigation

An example of incognito linksThe principle of proximity, discussed in The Non-Designer's Design Book by Robin Williams, is very important in designing the navigation of your website. Robin uses this image as an example of links that aren't organized properly. Do the links pop out? Remember that "whacha got?" is the main thing people are looking for on your website. Your links answer "whacha got?"

Notice how the navigation is improved by giving it it's own "center" and grouping.
