  • There are many fine software packages for small organizations to create a database, such as Access, FileMakerPro, etc.

  • Sometimes someone in the organization is sent to a class to learn how to create a database, but there is no mention of planning the database first.


  • Other times small organizations outsource their database development.


  • Both situations often result in a database that doesn't do everything the organization and their clients need.
